(Changing dateline) ISTANBUL, July 21 (KUNA) -- All Kuwaiti nationals in Turkey are safe, affirmed Consul General in Istanbul Mohammad Al-Mohammad on Friday.
The statement came on the heels of a 6.3-magnitude quake that hit near Turkey and Greece earlier today.
The epicenter was just 10 kilometers south of the Turkish resort of Bodrum; one of Kuwaiti tourists favorite destination in Turkey.
Al-Mohammad provided the Consulate's emergency line 05306902097 for Kuwaitis should they need any help.
Two people were killed in the Greek Island of Kos; the worst his by the tremor, while hundreds are reported to be injured.
In Turkey, there were no reports of casualties or property damages thus far.
The United States Geological Survey, which monitors earthquakes, said that the strong quake was very shallow - only 10 kilometers below the seabed - and located off the southwestern coastal city of Marmaris in the Mugla province of Turkey. (pickup previous) ta.hb
