WASHINGTON, July 21 (KUNA) -- A Kuwaiti official called for further international action on part of global audit organizations to bring into fruitarian the UN 2030 development goals.
During his participation at the Supreme Audit Institution (SAI) Leadership and Stakeholder Meeting - Audit of Preparedness for Implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) - late Thursday, Acting President of Kuwait's State Audit Bureau (SAB) Adel Al-Sarawi said that coordinating efforts within the audit realm would have a positive impact on realizing the development goals.
He commended the current two-day meeting for taking the initial steps towards unifying the global audit organizations' efforts, saying that his country was willing to contribute to the UN ultimate goal on the national, regional, and international levels.
On the sideline of the meeting, the members of the Kuwaiti audit delegation have provided publications and documents showcasing Kuwait's commitment to the 2030 development goals.
Meanwhile, the United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Inter-Agency Affairs in the Department of Economic and Social Affairs Thomas Gass affirmed that the current SAI meeting, which will conclude today, was vital to the UN development goals, saying that audit bureaus have a responsibility in aiding governments within this domain.
