State aspires to secure services for elderly at homes -- minister Al-Sebeeh

KUWAIT, June 25 (KUNA) -- State Minister for Social Affairs and Labor Dr. Hind Al-Sebeeh on Sunday expressed desire to secure services for the elderly at their homes.
Some 3,500 old citizens receive psychological, health and social services at the State-run elderly houses, the minister said, hoping that this segment would get the support in their personal houses.
She was speaking to reporters on sidelines of her visit to the Social Care House to offer eid congratulations to the occupants, including old and special needs' people.
The ministry is planning to establish a large, integrated housing complex for the elderly, she said, indicating that her department planned to expand the services for this segment of the society in the country's various governorates.
On Ramadan's fund-raising, the minister acknowledged that there were some "minor breaches" of the rules governing the donations.
The donors have become aware of the necessity to ensure that the donated money end up in the hands of those in need, through licensed associations. "The ambition is to reach the level of zero violations in the realm of collecting donations," she stressed. (end) mz.rk
