Riyadh announces tomorrow first day of Eid Al-Fitr

RIYADH, June 24 (KUNA) -- The Saudi Royal Court on Saturday announced that the Eid Al-Fitr starts Sunday (tomorrow), on June 25.
The announcement came after a number of adult witnesses had confirmed the sighting of the new moon of Shawal after sunset this evening, the court added in a statement.
Upon the testimonies of these witnesses the Supreme Court decided that Sunday is the first day of the Eid Al-Fitr 1438H, it noted.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz, in a speech read out by Minister of culture Awwad Saleh on the occasion of the Eid, said the world nowadays is suffering from terrorism in all forms.
Terrorism tampered with security, tranquility and peace that had been dominating the safe societies for a long time, he added, noting that Saudi Arabia is paying much attention to help prevail security and stability in the entire world. In the speech, the King said that the Kingdom has opened its doors to all visitors and pilgrims, and harnessed its potentials to help them perform rituals easily. (end) ad.hm
