Israeli warplanes attack Syrian position

AMMAN, June 24 (KUNA) -- Israeli warplanes on Saturday raided a position manned by troops of the Syrian government in Al-Qunaitra on the Golan Heights, knocking out two armored vehicles, the Syrian Monitor for Human Rights said.
Sham news network said the Israeli air strike came in retaliation for firing shells on the occupied part of the Golan Heights.
A spokesman of the Israeli Army said the warplanes targeted two tanks for the Syrian Army and a military outpost where shells were fired in the direction of Israel, indicating that 10 shells crashed on the Israeli-occupied part of the heights. (nd) tk.rk
