Al-Zakat House
KUWAIT, June 22 (KUNA) -- Al-Zakat House posted cash proceeds of KD 7.726 million (some USD 25.2 million) in Q1 2017, rising by 14 percent as compared to last year's same period.
Local and external expenditures reached KD 12.483 million (approximately USD 40.8 million).
Spending from donors' contributions for external projects amounted to KD six million (USD 19.6 million), the house said in a statement released on Thursday.
Up to 16,700 families in Kuwait benefited from the house aid, estimated at KD 6.373 million (USD 20.8 million). And, up to 5,929 families benefited from food and material assistance.
The house had sponsored 3,052 orphans in 40 countries and secured teaching for 2,187 students in 12 states. (end)
