Israel OKs bill for deducting funds for prisoners' families from taxes

RAMALLAH, June 11 (KUNA) -- An Israeli ministerial legislative commission on Sunday adopted a bill stipulating deduction of financial allotments by the Palestinian authorities to families of prisoners and martyrs from taxes Tel Aviv collects for the Ramallah authority.
The bill, proposed by Knesset members led Elazar Stern of the Yesh Atid Party, was endorsed by the ministerial commission at pretext that the funds transferred to the families break the Oslo accord.
Chairman of the Prisoner's Club Qaddoura Fares said the decision is tantamount to piracy targeting funds of the Palestinian people.
"this legislation emphatically contradicts with the international law," he said, noting that it was endorsed amid internal political bickering in Israel.
