The UN special envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmad meets with Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi
AMMAN, June 6 (KUNA) -- Jordanian Foreign Ministry said Tuesday the capital, Amman, would be the headquarters of the UN special envoy for Yemen Ismail Ould Sheikh Ahmad.
The announcement came in a ministry statement following a meeting between Sheikh Ahmad and Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Al-Safadi.
The UN envoy thanked Jordan for contributing to security, stability and peace in Yemen, as well as its offering to host his office, the ministry added.
Safadi reiterated support to all efforts to solving the Yemeni conflict in line with UN resolution 2216, outcome of national dialogue, the GCC initiative and its implementation mechanism.
Sheikh Ahmad was appointed in April 2015. (end)
