Kuwaiti detainee in US acquitted - Envoy

NEW YORK, May 25 (KUNA) -- Kuwait Permanent Delegate to the United Nations Mansour Al-Otaibi confirmed that a US court acquitted Naif Al-Rashidi, a Kuwaiti student who has been detained since last June.
The court dropped all charges brought against Al-Rashidi and he willl be able to go home after completing some measures as a matter of routine, Al-Otaibi told KUNA on Thursday.
The diplomat congratulated the exonerated student and his family on the success of the efforts made by the Kuwaiti diplomatic mission to follow up the case since the very beginning. (end) mao.gb
