MoI grants amnesty to jailed policemen ahead of Ramadan

KUWAIT, May 22 (KUNA) -- The Ministry of Interior (MoI) pardoned on Monday members of the police force imprisoned for minor offenses, in a gesture of goodwill to mark the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Khaled Al-Jarrah Al-Sabah has commuted the sentences of the officers, thereby, giving them an early release just around the start of the holy month, a statement by the MoI noted. (end) ays.nam
