Russia calls for "restraint" after N. Korean missile test

MOSCOW, May 22 (KUNA) -- Russia on Monday urged super powers to "practice restraint" in aftermath of latest firing of a ballistic missile by North Korea.
Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Riyabkov was quoted by Interfax news agency as calling on the United States and its allies to show restraint and abstain from proliferation of more weapons and forces on the Korean peninsula.
He also called on North Korea to abstain from unleashing more of such missiles The Russian official condemned a recent Coalition strike on a military convoy including government Syrian forces in Syria.
Pyongyang announced earlier that it had successfully conducted test-firing of a new intermediate-range ballistic missile, marking the second launch in a week. (end) as.rk
