By Fawaz Al-Otaibi

TEHRAN, May 14 (KUNA) -- The work of Iranian music production companies has thrived during the presidential election campaigns, composing national songs to encourage people to vote.
The songs mainly focus on the rich history of modern Iran and presenting topics of concern to citizens, while being neutral towards all competing parties.
These songs promote patriotism among citizens and encourage them to cast their votes on the elections set for May 19, owner of production company Mehdi Nowrozi told KUNA.
The patriotic songs boost national belonging among the young, bring into recollection accomplishments of the ancestors and entice them to be engaged in the nation development, Nowrozi added.
On her part, Iranian poet Gunaz Golzar said many Iranian poets write songs in elections time as part of their national duty to make people vote for the candidate they see fit to serve the country. (end) fz.ag
