ISESCO urges member countries to promote freedom of expression, press

RABAT, May 2 (KUNA) -- The Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) called on Tuesday on member countries to promote freedom of press and expression, as a foundation for basic freedoms.
ISESCO, in a statement on the eve of the world's press day, urged members to develop their legislations to facilitate access to information and promote freedom of the press.
It called on the international federation of journalists and UN Human Rights Council to urge the journalists around the world to respect religious icons, and refrain from offending religions. (end) mry.bs
