KUWAIT, April 29 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) on Saturday said that registration for the "junior volunteer club" opens Monday, May 1, for a month.
The project is to instill the culture of voluntary work in the minds of the young and to promote their sense of collective action, cooperation and leadership, head of the young and the volunteers at the KRCS Dr. Musaed El-Enezi told KUNA.
Children at five to 12 years old are welcome to register, he added.
Volunteers will be taught the seven Fundamental Principles that express the Red Cross Red Crescent Movement's values and practices, El-Enzi said. These were developed, based on the Movement's experience responding to suffering and needs over decades. In addition, they will also be lectured on certain skills to get acquainted with the needs of the society, assist others and work as a team, he said.
This will help them be members in the KRCS in the future, when they reach 18, he said. (end) akw.amh.msa
