N. Korea fails in missile test: S. Korea

TOKYO, April 29 (KUNA) -- North Korea launched a ballistic missile on Saturday, which apparently exploded seconds after liftoff, South Korea's military said, according to the Seoul-based Yonhap News Agency.
"North Korea fired an unidentified missile from a site in the vicinity of Bukchang in the northeastern direction at around 5:30 a.m (2030 Friday GMT)," the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) was quoted as saying in a statement. "It is estimated to have failed." The JSC added it is analyzing additional information. It said the South's military is keeping a close eye on the possibility of additional provocations from the North and maintaining a thorough defense posture. (end) mk.ibi
