Trump orders reviewing 5-year plan for offshore energy leasing

WASHINGTON, April 28 (KUNA) -- US President Donald Trump on Friday signed an executive order requiring a review of the five-year plan for US offshore oil and natural gas leasing, and all regulations concerning energy and renewable energy leasing in federal waters.
Trump said that previously, US government officials could not talk about drilling in the Arctic, but that those waters were going to be opening up.
The order reverses the Obama administration's Arctic leasing ban and will produce jobs, Trump said.
The President added that he was very proud of the congressional officials standing behind him, and far less proud of the people in front of him, pointing to and calling out members of the news media. (end) rm.gb
