Erdogan to U.S.: Target "terrorist groups other than Daesh"

ISTANBUL, April 28 (KUNA) -- Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday urged the United States of America to expand scope of the war on terrorists to include groups other than the so-called Islamic State, also known as "Daesh." It is wrong to focus efforts on seeking defeat of Daesh and leave other groups that receive arms and support, said Erdogan during a special session on sidelines of the 8th Atlantic Council Istanbul Summit.
"We have documents, videos and pictures and we are aware of all movements and there is no room for denial whatsoever but I'll have to explain the matter to President (Donald) Trump," Erdogan said, clearly alluding to anti-Turkish Kurdish groups active in northern Syria and Iraq.
He reiterated strong opposition to schemes to carve out an independent mini-Kurdish state or partition Syria. (pickup previous) ta.rk
