Kuwait sends 20 tons of medicine to Yemen

RIYAHD, April 27 (KUNA) -- The Health Committee of the Kuwait Society for Relief has on Thursday dispatched 20 tons of medicine to the war-traumatized Yemeni people.
In a press statement, the rotating president of the Yemeni-Kuwaiti Relief Agency Tawfiq Al-Baabai lauded the outstanding role of Kuwaiti government and people in alleviating the suffering of Yemenis, especially in the health sector.
He pointed out that the move comes in the framework of Kuwait's relentless efforts to meet the Yemeni people's needs of medicine and basic medical equipment.
This aid is part of the "Kuwait Besides You" campaign which was ordered by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, he said.
The Kuwait aid campaign to Yemen is active in various sectors, particularly those related to provision of drinking water, food, education, health services and shelters for the displaced people. (end) od.ibi
