GENEVA, April 26 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's USD 100 million contribution to international relief aid efforts for the Yemeni people was widely praised by the global community, Kuwait's permanent representative at the United Nations and international organizations headquarters in Geneva Ambassador Jamal Al-Ghunaim said late Tuesday.
Speaking to KUNA, Al-Ghunaim lauded Deputy Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Khaled Suleiman Al-Jarallah's speech at the High-Level Pledging Event for the Humanitarian Crisis in Yemen, saying that it reflected Kuwait's strong commitment to the relief aid cause and peace in the fellow Arab country.
Kuwait's contribution to Yemen is not new, the Gulf country had always been on the frontier of aiding the Yemeni people, affirmed Al-Ghunaim.
Al-Jarallah during the meeting showcased Kuwait's eagerness to hold a conference for peace in Yemen if parties involved in the conflict were willing to meet for this purpose. (end) ta.gta
