US stocks increases, hitting new highs

NEW YORK, April 26 (KUNA) -- US stock market extended its increases Tuesday, welcoming upbeat earnings and the possibility of corporate tax cuts.
According to NASDAQ, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) rose 232.23 points to end at 20,996.12.
As for the Nasdaq Composite Index, it surpassed the 6,000 point for the first time ever intraday and closed at 6,025.97. It opened at 6,004.16 and increased 41.67 points.
It has taken the Nasdaq 46 years since its inception in 1971 to hit 6,000 points.
Standards and Poor (S&P 500) also was up (0.6 percent) or 14.46 points to finish at 2,388.61.
Earlier, US President Donald Trump has ordered White House to help draft a tax plan that slashes the corporate tax rate to 15 percent. Such orders played with the stock in Wall Street and increased its performance. (end) mao.gta
