Suicide attack kills 4 Special Force members SE Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, April 24 (KUNA) -- At least four Afghan Special Force members were killed and six others wounded on Monday in a suicide attack in Afghanistan's southeastern Khost province, said officials.
Provincial police Chief Brig. Gen. Faizullah Ghairat told media that the suicide bomber targeted a Special Forces post in old area in Khost city, the provincial capital, where US forces are stationed.
He further said that the bomber in a flying coach vehicle detonated his explosives immediately after arriving near the security post. Four Special Forces members were killed and six others wounded in the incident. The blast was heard in the entire city and shattered windowpanes of houses. No group has so far claimed responsibility of the attack.
The suicide attack came on the day when Afghan Defense Minister and Army Chief of Staff stepped down following a military base attack by Taliban rebels in Afghanistan's northern Balkh province that reportedly killed around 140 soldiers. (end) sbk.hb
