KUWAIT, April 21 (KUNA) -- Larry Hama, an American writer, artist and musician, said he was surprised to see how the Kuwaiti youth have innovative thinking and vivid imagination.
He voiced joy for having the chance to meet Kuwait youth who are interested in story writing, comic arts and electronic games that are relatively new in the Arab communities.
Lama, now on a visit to Kuwait, made the comments in an interview with KUNA on the sidelines of a symposium, hosted by the US Embassy in Kuwait on Friday evening as part of the 2017 GX games and media entertainment expo.
He affirmed that the Kuwaiti youth have an unmatched zeal in competing in the area of electronic entertainment compared with their peers in other countries in the region.
He noted that his visit to Kuwait came in response to an invitation from the US embassy with a view to show his 50-year long experience as an editor, musician, actor, painter, comic writer of fantasy stories, and contributor to electronic games.
Lama added that he seeks to convey his experience to the Kuwait youth and encourage them to pursue their hobbies and assert themselves in whatever activity they might like.
Meanwhile, US Cultural Attache Dr. Zenia Paganini said her embassy is hosting this symposium out of desire to familiarize the Kuwaiti society with the American culture and arts.
The Embassy sought to introduce Lama to the Kuwaiti youth as one of the most famous artists, she said, adding that Lama's rich experience as writer of fantasy stories makes him an icon in the American culture.
During the symposium, Lama delivered a lecture on the art of fantasy story writing, the significance of use of colors and motion in conveying the idea in a clear way, and the development of visual arts.
At the end of the event, a US military band played clips of the music of famous video games which amused the audience very much. (end) hjb.gb
