N. Korea accuses US of disturbing global peace

NEW YORK, April 17 (KUNA) -- North Korea accused the US in disturbing the global peace and stability, and insisting on "gangster-like logic." Deputy Permanent Representative of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Ambassador Kim In Ryong held a press conference on the consideration of a UN Security Council meeting on non-proliferation in the DPRK.
The current President of the Council, the US, called for a briefing on April 28 on this issue, and confirmed that it will be under US Secretary of State's leadership.
Therefore, Kim told reporters "I categorically reject the convening of another briefing." He accused the UNSC meeting to be another abuse of "authority and the behavior of double standard," which violates his country's sovereignty.
Kim told reporters that the US without hesitations perpetrates military attacks and threat on sovereign states while declaiming peace by strength.
With the latest US missile attack on Syria, the Korean top diplomat said the US is disturbing the global peace and stability.
Kim noted that the US, along with South Korea are pushing the situation to the brink of war. "Nuclear war may break out at any minute on the peninsula, and pose a serious threat to the world peace and security," he added.
Therefore, Kim said the briefing to be held next week was nothing but to justify the aggressive war climate against his country.
He warned that the DPRK is ready to react to any "mode of war" desired by the Americans, affirming that they just increased their military capability for self-defense. (end) mao.hb
