By Ali Al-Roumi KUWAIT, April 17 (KUNA) -- An urgent relief and aid campaign was kicked off Monday by Al-Salam Humanitarian and Charity Society to help ease the suffering of people through starting to receive donations, for one week, and to help the suffering people in Yemen and Syria.
The campaign, according to Nabil Hamad Al-Oun, who is the Director General of Al-Salam Humanitarian and Charity society, said will be in a series of relief projects campaigns "for our brothers in Yemen and Syria, and the invitation is open to citizens and residents to donate their own food, clothes, blankets and others." Al-Oun pointed out that so far, 13 truckloads have been collected, and half of them for the Yemeni people while the other half will be for the Syrian people.
The society previously sent six convoys to the Syrians on the border with Turkey, while this is the second convoy to Yemenis.
In order to follow up closely on the this humanitarian campaign, Director of Public Relations in the society, Dhari Hamad Al-Baijan, a team of experts was put together to take care of arrivals of convoys in the Syrian-Turkish border and then distribute the other part inside the Syrian territory, specifically to Aleppo's displaced people in Adlib and its surroundings.
With regard to aid to Yemen, Al-Baijan added that the convoys would be sent to the Yemeni territory, which is in dire need of humanitarian and relief conditions that reach the point of famine.
Donations will be received in designated areas like Kazma Sports Club in Al-Adaliya for a week, Al-Baijan said, calling on citizens and residents to show their support and solidarity to help to their brothers in Syria and Yemen. (end) anr.mb
