Syria coordinates airstrikes on IS sites with Iraq

BAGHDAD, March 29 (KUNA) -- The Syrian Air Force attacked some sites belonging to "terrorist groups" in Deir al-Zour and Al Bukamal cities, east Syria, based on Iraqi intelligence reports, the Iraqi army said Wednesday.
The airstrikes ruined some 39 sites of the so-called Islamic State (IS) and killed dozens of terrorists of different nationalities, according to a statement by the Iraqi Joint Operations Command (IJOC).
These sites were used as labs to manufacture weapons and explosive belts, it noted.
The targeted groups were planning to launch several attacks and control government bodies in Syria, the statement pointed out, without revealing the plots.
Iraq earlier today carried out an airstrike on positions of IS inside the Syrian territories upon a consent from the Syrian government. (end) ahh.hm
