TRIPOLI, North Lebanon, (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti International Center for Qualitative Education, an affiliate of the International Islamic Charitable Organization (IICO), on Sunday held its first forum in Lebanon.
Up to 30 charity schools where about 13,000 Syrian refugee children are being taught, took part in the forum that brought together the teaching staff and principals. representative of Kuwait Embassy's in Lebanon Mohammad Al-Khaldi attended.
Talking to KUNA on the sideline of the event, Al-Khaldi lauded efforts by the center, which is better known as the Kuwaiti Charitable Studies' Center, for supporting thousands of Syrian children in Lebanon, securing them opportunities for good education.
The qualitative education the center offers through its schools in Lebanon, mainly in the north, is a real elevated style for backing the Syrian refugees, especially children, preparing them for a better future, he added.
Since the center was established four years ago, it has realized remarkable achievements, with schools rising from only eight serving 8,000 children in 2013, to 30 teaching 13,500 students now, Al-Khaldi said. Up to 46,000 students have graduated from these schools through the years.
Today's event included sports, scientific and theatrical shows performed by the students, focusing on the sufferings of the Syrian people afflicted by the war and violence at home.
They also expressed gratitude to Kuwait and the Kuwaiti people for their support to the Syrian refugees. (end) ff.msa
