Palestinian groups accuse Israel of ex-prisoner murder

GAZA, March 24 (KUNA) -- Hamas, Fatah and the Islamic Jihad - the three leading Palestinian movements, accused Israel of the assassination of former detainee Mazen Fuqaha in Gaza Strip.
The man, who was released from an Israeli jail in 2011 under a prisoner swap deal, was shot dead by unknown gunmen at close quarters in front of his house in Tal Al-Hawa village, to the west of the Gaza city, on Friday evening.
The Israeli occupation authorities and their operatives are the prime culprits of this shameful crime, Ezz Eddin Al-Qassam - the armed wing of Hamas, said in a press release tonight.
The group vowed that this crime will never go unpunished.
Meanwhile, Osama Al-Qawasmi, member of the revolutionary council of Fatah movement, strongly denounced "the cowardly and heinous crime." He offered condolences to the family of the victim and the entire people of Palestine.
On his part, Dawoud Shihab, the spokesman of the Islamic Jihad Movement, said that Israel, by perpetrating this crime, meant to trigger a new military confrontation with the Palestinian resistance movements. (pickup previous) wab.gb
