GAZA, March 24 (KUNA) -- A Palestinian man who was released from an Israeli jail in 2011 was shot dead by unknown gunmen in front of his house in West of Gaza Strip on Friday, Palestinian health ministry spokesman confirmed.
Ashraf Al-Qudra said in a statement that Mazen Fuqaha' was shot dead before his house in Tal Al-Hawa area.
Fuqhah was taken to Al-Quds Hospital, he added, and authorities were investigating the attack.
Ayman Al-Butnaiji, Palestinian police spokesman, said Fuqaha' body contained four bullets, all near his head.
No one claimed responsibility for the killing.
Leaders of a number of Palestinian factions held the Israeli occupation responsible for the murder.
Fuqaha' was among 1,000 Palestinian prisoners who were released from Israeli jail in exchange of Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit in 2011. Fuqaha' was expelled from the West Bank to Gaza. (end) wab.bs
