BEIRUT, March 23 (KUNA) -- Director General of the Kuwait Economic Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) Abdulwahab A. Al-Bader met Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri on Thursday informing the top lawmaker about KFAED's philanthropic projects in the country.
Emerging from the meeting, Al-Bader told journalists that he informed speaker Berri about ventures financed by the Kuwaiti fund in various regions of Lebanon. KFAED, on Saturday, will open a project for sewage water, serving the regions of Marjeyoun and Al-Khiam in southern Lebanon.
The Kuwaiti fund is helping people of southern Lebanon so that they could remain in their lands despite various challenges, he indicated.
KFAED signed in December an accord and a grant agreement worth USD 50 million to fund a sewage network in the southern coastal regions of Al-Sarafand. Another accord worth USD 25 million was dedicated for supporting communities hosting Syrian refugees in Lebanon. (end) ayb.rk
