MANAMA, March 22 (KUNA) -- The fifth GCC eGovernment Ministerial Committee meeting has approved five vital joint eServices between the Council's States, aiming at facilitating services for Gulf citizens, a senior Kuwaiti official said Wednesday.
These services are a preliminary to several coming ones that would contribute to enhancing eGov and, thus, facilitating government procedures and measures via electronic communication, Qusai Al-Shatti, Director-General of the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), told KUNA.
They include facilitating traveling in GCC airports via ePassport gates, entry Visa for companions of GCC citizens of GCC countries, establishment and management of commercial activities owned by GCC nationals, exchange traffic violations between the GCC countries, and pension and retirement services in the GCC countries, said Al-Shatti.
The meeting also launched the "IP Reputation" system led by the UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), which is the first of the initiatives of the guiding strategy for cybersecurity and safety, he noted.
The Kuwaiti official also pointed out a number of initiatives that were approved during the meeting, including publication of a periodic report, to be implemented by Kuwait in the coming period, that highlights latest GCC eGov achievements. (end) mga.ma
