Coalition launches 23 strikes in Syria, Iraq

WASHINGTON, March 19 (KUNA) -- The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 23 strikes in Syria and Iraq "consisting of 56 engagements" Saturday, the Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report.
In Syria, 17 strikes "consisting of 18 engagements" hit IS targets near Ar Raqqa, Al Shaddadi, Dayr Az Zawr, and Palmyra, the report showed.
In Iraq, six strikes "consisting of 38 engagements" hit IS targets near Haditha and Mosul, the report said. (end) ak.hb
