IMF chief, US treasury secretary meet in Washington

WASHINGTON, March 9 (KUNA) -- International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde discussed the US economy, global economic challenges and upcoming G20 finance minister talks with US Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin on Thursday.
In Washington, the IMF Managing Director and the Secretary discussed "challenges facing the world economy and the upcoming G20 meetings of Finance Ministers in Germany," IMF spokesman Gerry Rice said in a statement.
"Lagarde expressed the IMF's desire to continue close engagement with the US to encourage policies that will promote growth, stability, and job creation in the US and globally," he added. (end) sd.ibi
