KUWAIT, March 1 (KUNA) -- The popular maritime heritage competitions, part of the Gulf heritage festival, came to a close at the anglers' 'diwaniya' (ballroom) in Al-Fintas area on Wednesday.
A large number of competitors and seafaring lovers came together to enjoy the traditional games of 'Al-Dama,' "Kut Bosetta' and Al-Mehibes, head of the diwaniya Ahmad Al-Hamdan told reporters this evening.
He thanked the organizing committee, headed by Sheikh Salem Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and the arbiters for their efforts to ensure the success of the events.
Al-Hamdan extoled His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his kind patronage of the events which help revive Kuwait's popular heritage.
The competitions, kick-started in mid-January, 2017, at Sabah Al-Ahmad Heritage Village, saw a range of fishing, camel, horse and sheep events with a large number of competitors from the Gulf region. (end) fsa.jk.gb
