'Yes' to referendum will end terrorism in Turkey - PM Yildirim

ANKARA, Feb 26 (KUNA) -- Saying 'Yes' to the new constitution in a referendum due in April will end all forms of terrorism in Turkey, Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has said.
"With the new constitution, Turkey will be cleared of the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), as well as the so-called Islamic State (IS)/Daesh," Yildirim told a Yes rally in the Kahramankazan district of the capital Ankara Sunday.
Yildirim urged all the Turkish citizens, regardless of their political orientations, to approve the constitutional amendments that will bring peace and stability, strengthen Turkey and provide a bright future for the people.
The new constitution will turn over a page of coups, and "systems of guardianship" shifting the country from the current parliamentary system to a presidential one, he said.
On his part, leader of the Republican People's Party (CHP) Kemal Kilicdaroglu said that the Tukish parliament had lost its powers, using the law to announce a state of emergency in random cases.
When a parliamentary system is discarded, being replaced by a one-man rule, this means altering it and putting all powers in the hand of a single person, He told a meeting for the CHP former officials.
On January 20, the Turkish parliament approved a package of constitutional amendments, to increase parliamentary seats from 550 to 660, reducing the age of running from elections from 25 to 18, holding parliamentary and presidential elections every five years as well as offering the president the executive power to appoint and oust ministers, while maintaining his relation to his party.
