28 strikes in Syria, 8 in Iraq target IS -- coalition

WASHINGTON, Feb 24 (KUNA) -- Coalition military forces on Thursday have conducted 36 strikes consisting of 120 engagements against the so-called Islamic State in Syria and Iraq, the Combined Joint Task Force said in a statement on Friday. In Syria, coalition forces carried out 28 strikes consisting of 36 engagements near Abu Kamal, Al Bab, Al Shadaddi, Ar Raqqah, Dayr Az Zawr and Palmyra, it said.
In Iraq, coalition forces executed eight strikes consisting of 84 engagements near Mosul, Rawah and Sinjar, the statement said. (end) rm.rk
