Turkish opposition MP arrested over terror claims

ANKARA, Feb 21 (KUNA) -- Turkish police on Tuesday arrested a parliamentary group leader of the opposition Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) in Ankara due to terrorism allegations.
A court in Turkey's southeastern Diyarbakir issued an arrest warrant for Idris Baluken on Friday after he was released by a lower court on January 30, Turkey's Anadolu news agency reported.
He had spent nearly three months in prison on terrorism-related charges.
Baluken was among at least a dozen of the party's lawmakers arrested in November 2016 after their parliamentary immunity was lifted. (end) rs.mt
