Iran's Foreign Ministry summons Turkish envoy

TEHRAN, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Iranian Foreign Ministry has summoned the Turkish ambassador over recent statements by Turkish officials on Tehran's regional role.

According to the official Iranian media, the assistant foreign minister, Ebrahim Rahimpour, notified the ambassador of his country's complaint against recent statements by the Turkish president and his foreign minister of Iran's role in the region.
Turkish President Recep Erdogan was quoted as accusing Iran of plotting to partition Iraq and Syria. His foreign minister charged Teheran with seeking to destabilize the Middle East. (end) mw.rk
