Libya's top man in command survives bid on his life

TUNIS, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Head of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj has survived an assassination attempt, according to an official spokesman.

Asharaf Al-Thalthi, spokesman of the Libyan Presidential Council of the Concord Government, said in a statement Al-Sarraj's motorcade was targeted with gunfire in the Libyan capital Tripoli.

Al-Thalthi, cited by Libyan media monitored here, added that the convoy was taregted in the district of Abu Slim in Tripoli and that the bid inflicted no losses.
Presidential bodyguards fired back at the suspected would-be assailant and nabbed one suspect. (end) ksj.rk
