Constitutional Court to decide on all election challenges on May 3

KUWAIT, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- The Constitutional Court on Monday decided to give its final say on challenges lodged against recent parliamentary elections on May 3rd.
The court had delayed examining the challenges until today. It held the first hearing to examine challenges against voting in the first, second and third districts on December 25th, and delayed the proceedings till February 13th to give time for judges to re-examine tallies.
It had decided to reopen the ballot boxes of the committees (one and 29) in the second constituency and those of the polling stations (15 and 19) in the third. The tribunal had also examined challenges in the fourth constituency on December 26 and adjourned the sessions to provide time for judges to examine minutes of the electoral committees in the district.
The tribunal had also delayed examining the challenges in the fifth district on December 27th for identical reasons.
Parliamentary elections were held in the five constituencies on November 26th. Ten out of the 50 winners represent each constituency. (end) amn.tb.mt
