Turkish Army kills 27 IS militants in northern Syria

ISTANBUL, Feb 20 (KUNA) -- Twenty seven militants from the so-called Islamic State (IS) were killed in northern Syria by the Turkish Army as part of "Euphrates Shield" operation.
In a statement by the Turkish Chief of Staff on its official website on Monday said, the Army forces attacked 140 IS locations, where the artillery targeted 122 positions including shelters, defense positions and military camps and the air force bombarded 18 targets and destroyed 14 shelters and two military positions in addition to a car loaded with ammunition.
In cooperation with the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and international forces, the Turkish army launched on August 24 of 2016, a military operation codenamed the "Euphrates Shield" in northern Syria which aims at cleansing the whole border area from terrorist organizations, especially IS.
