BRUSSELS, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Al-Sarraj at NATO headquarters in Brussels Wednesday for talks on the security situation in Libya.
"NATO stands ready to assist Libya in building effective security and defence institutions. Strengthening your ability to fight terrorism and create conditions for peace," he told a news conference after the meeting.
"Looking to the future, we could offer advice on establishing a modern Ministry of Defence, a joint military staff, and security and intelligence services under civilian control," he said.
On his part, Al-Sarraj told the joint press conference that he came to NATO in order to benefit from its deep seated experience, in order to build the capacity of the military and security institutions of Libya.
