OIC, Turkey sign humanitarian partnership agreement

DOHA, Jan 22 (KUNA) -- Organization of Islamic Cooperation's humanitarian funds signed Sunday a partnership agreement with Turkey's relief organization to promote development and relief contributions by OIC member states.
The agreement was signed by Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Thani from the OIC and Fehmi Bulent Yildirim, President of the Turkish relief body, IHH.
Both officials discussed several issues on sidelines of the signing ceremony.
Yildirim, in a press statement, said they discussed the establishment of an agency to monitor humanitarian-related developments in the world.
"We are keen on establishment of a training center for humanitarian action in near future," he said.
Yildirim said the agreement aimed at strengthening capabilities of the two sides, meeting global humanitarian and development demands, and achieving common strategic objectives.
The two sides also agreed to launch a UN project over human diplomacy, he said. (end) nnd.bs
