By Fay Al-Saeed

KUWAIT, Jan 20 (KUNA) -- The Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) organized a trip to Albania for outstanding Kuwaiti high-school students to inform them about the Fund's contributions there.
According to a report by KFAED, the eighth edition of the annual "Be among the outstanding ones" trip, which also includes a separate tour to Cuba (for male students), will highlight the Fund's projects in Albania since 1993.
Seven loans were provided by the Fund to Albania worth KD 33.438 million, (USD 113.6 million) to finance projects within agriculture, transportation, and infrastructure.
On an annual basis, the KFAED organizes trips to mainly showcase Kuwait's huge role in providing assistance to other countries.
In a previous statement, KFAED said that these trips contributed to the development of students' skills in research and knowledge, in addition to helping them to discover their own abilities.
The students program is part of a cooperation between the Ministry of Education and KFAED, which kicked off in 2010, and it involves the annual selection of a number of high achieving 11th grade students who are sent on accompanied trips to see firstآhand KFAED and Kuwaiti developmental contributions and efforts.
KFAED was established in 1961 on an initiative by late Amir Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. (end) fs.gta
