KUWAIT, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- The Public Authority for Sport (PAS) has decided that the boards of directors of the sports bodies will continue on a caretaker basis until new ones are elected.
The move is line with the ministerial decision No. 847/2016 that was issued by Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah on October 20, the authority said in a statement on Thursday. The decision stipulates that the current boards of directors work temporarily for three months until the new ones are formed in light of schedules and procedures in this regard, it added.
The authority is keen of empowering sports board directors to achieve their missions until elections, in accordance with the amended systems, are held, it noted. (end) fz.abd.hm
