Trump inaugural speech will be "personal" -- Spicer

WASHINGTON, Jan 19 (KUNA) -- Donald Trump's presidential inaugural address on Friday will be "a very personal and sincere statement about his vision for the country," incoming White House press secretary Sean Spicer said on Thursday. "He will discuss what it means to be an American, the challenges that we face as members of the middle class -- that they face," Spicer said during a briefing.
Trump will "talk about infrastructure and education, our manufacturing base," Spicer said. "I think it is going to be less of an agenda and more of a philosophical document -- a vision of where he sees the country, the proper role of government, the role of citizens." Three weeks ago, Trump said he was studying the inaugural speeches of former presidents Ronald Reagan and John Kennedy to prepare his own inaugural address. Several sources said Trump's speech would not be lengthy, and would probably take about 20 minutes to deliver.
The inaugural speech is given on the steps of the US Capitol, where Republican Trump also will take the oath of office to succeed Democrat Barack Obama in the White House. (end) rm.gb
