SHARM EL-SHEIKH, Jan 12 (KUNA) -- The first Arab Women Creativity Festival honored the Chairperson of the Arab Businesswomen Council Sheikha Hessa Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah who was selected as the best Arab businesswoman in 2016.
The festival is being held here between January 12 and 14 to promote the tourism sector in Egypt under auspices of Governor of South Sinai Maj.-Gen. Khaled Foudah.
In her address to the opening ceremony on Thursday evening, Sheikha Hessa appreciated the gathering, saying: "It's a first step towards revitalizing the tourist sector and attracting more Arab tourists to Egypt." She renewed the support of the Arab Businesswomen Council to the Egyptian people and government in the face of terrorism and economic hardships, noting that her presence in the Red Sea resort signals that support.
"The Council, launched 18 years ago, organizes annual visits to its 22 member countries which started with Egypt and visit Morocco and Algeria later this year," Sheikha Hessa pointed out.
She voiced hope that more Arab tourists will be visiting the Egyptian cities which are of great archaeological significance.
She thanked chairperson of the event Amal Ibrahim for the honoring.
In statements to KUNA after the ceremony, Sheikha Hessa took pride in her selection as the best Arab businesswoman for 2016 and dedicated the honoring to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the soul of her father Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah.
