KUWAIT, Jan 9 (KUNA) -- Kuwait strongly condemns the terrorist attack that targeted a security checkpoint in Al-Arish city, northern Sinai, Egypt, which killed and wounded a number of policemen and civilians.
Kuwait stands by and supports Egypt in all security measures it takes to preserve its security and stability, an official source at the foreign ministry affirmed, reiterating Kuwait's firm and principled stand against all forms of terrorism and violence.
It also expresses sincere condolences to the Egyptian leadership, government, people, and families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded.
At least six policemen were killed and nine others injured in a car bomb attack on a security checkpoint in Al-Arish city, northern Sinai earlier.
According to Egyptian security sources, four civilians were also injured in the attack, adding that the explosion was followed by exchange of gun fire between armed men and security forces.
The sources noted that the militants also attacked an ambulance as it was taking the wounded to the hospital. (end) ma
