CIA says Russia intervened in Trump elections win - newspaper

WASHINGTON, Dec 10 (KUNA) -- The Central Intelligence Agency has concluded in a secret assessment that Russia intervened in the US election to help Donald Trump win the presidency, the Washington Post reported on Friday, citing officials brief on the matter.
Intelligence agencies identified individuals with ties to the Russian government who provided WikiLeaks with thousands of hacked emails from the Democratic National Committee and others, including the campaign chairman of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, US officials told the Post.
The officials said the individuals were known to the intelligence community and part of a wider Russian operation to boost Trump and hurt Clinton's chances, the Post reported. (end) rm.gta
