Security operations kill 15 rebels in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, Nov 9 (KUNA) -- At least 15 Taliban fighters were killed and 23 others were wounded during fresh security operations in different provinces of Afghanistan, Afghan Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement on Friday.
The statement said that 15 Taliban rebels were killed and 23 others were wounded in operations conducted in the past 24 hours in Nangarhar, Kunar, Paktika, Ghazni, Paktia, Logar, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Zabul, Daikundi, Badghis, Herat, Faryab, Kunduz and Helmand provinces.
It further added that weapons and ammunition were also seized by security forces during the offensives. The ministry did not mention casualties among security forces.
The security operations came at a time when Afghan forces have paced up their operations against the Taliban rebels after they rejected peace dialogue offer by Afghan government. (end) sbk.nfm
