VIENNA, Dec 8 (KUNA) -- Representative of 21 non-member states are interested in the upcoming OPEC ministerial meeting next Saturday, said a source Thursday.
A well-informed source at OPEC, preferred anonymity, told KUNA that representatives from Russia, Egypt, Congo, Mexico, and other non-OPEC countries were eager to partake in the meeting aimed at discussing the implementation of an OPEC decision to decrease production by 1.2 million barrels per day by the beginning of next.
Several news sources pointed out that nations outside the organization were willing to lower production by 600 million bpd in the same period.
Experts are saying that Russia might announce during the meeting that it will lower its production by 300,000 bpd, a gesture showcasing Moscow's willingness to stabilize global prices. (end)
